Art Nocturne Knocke
Art Nocturne Knocke is a small art fair in the small coastal town of Knocke-Heist in Belgium.
The fair is very small, but the trip was worth it, as the town itself is super pretty and at the sea! It is a nocturnal art fair, which means that one can actually enjoy the sun, sea, and beach, and then visit the art fair in the evening.
The fair is a mish mash of art, furniture, antiques, and jewelry, but I must say I quite enjoyed the art at some of the galleries. My favorite pieces were at Art Gallery Woussen and Rasson Art Gallery and Absolute Art Gallery.
The beach is quite beautiful, but unfortunately it is not always warm enough to swim, even in August! But strolling along the stretch of sand is quite calming, even in the cold, and there is much else to do while there.
A drive through the town is highly recommendable, as well as some shopping and dining, but the treat for sure is walking or cycling through the Zwin Nature Reserve, which lies extremely close to the sea. It is quite calming, and the walk through a nature park is a rewarding experience, as I found out.
