The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts
Located in one of the most, if not the most, artsy areas in Amman, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts (JNGFA) in Jabal Lweibdeh is a sight for sore eyes!
With its two buildings across from one another, and a lovely small park in between, the JNGFA is one of the major art museums in the Middle East. Its rich and diverse permanent collection is not to be missed. "Their collection of modern art from the Developing World is internationally recognized. From its inception, the Royal Society of Fine arts has pursued the highest professional standards of excellence in acquiring art works and running the gallery. The collection comprises over 2800 works including painting, sculpture, ceramic, weaving, video art, installation, graphic arts and photography by more than 1000 artists from 66 countries mainly in Asia and Africa".
And when you do pay them a visit, make sure you end your tour with a coffee and some great sweets at their rooftop cafe!
