Eating with a twist in Dubai
There is of course an extensive, endless, and incredible list of amazing eateries in Dubai!!! The choice is endless, form Michelin Star fine dining, to cool and authentic restaurants and diverse cuisines. Almost any and all the international big players in the gourmet food industry are in Dubai, and I really enjoy most cuisines in this city, but I managed to find two exciting new places that most of you will not have discovered yet!
Hidden away in JLT, is the adorable vegan/vegetarian, healthy eatery URTH by Nabz&G. A beautiful, homelike little place, with eclectic furniture and cute decor picked with good taste. The food is delish, healthy, light, and very tasty and flavorful. The owners, Ghalia and Nabih, and the staff are friendly, sweet, accommodating and make you feel at home. The menu is quite diverse for a vegetarian selection, and their salmon and Freekeh dish is super delicious (one of the few fish dishes available).
Also, HEIK in the beautiful, new and exciting Dubai project La Mer in Jumeirah 1. Serving delicious, guilt free Knafeh, with no sugar added syrups, and a variety of toppings. But what will be a first for all of you are the savory Knafeh balls!!!! Yes, Knafeh filled with feta cheese, lamb, or fish. They are truly delicious, mouthwatering nibbles, and their variety of salads and dressings are to die for. A must try.
But their delicious, innovative menu is not all. HEIK is an eatery that revolves around a cultural and artistic theme, with ties to artists from all over the Arab, Mediterranean, and North African region, covering all forms of art, from painting, music, and dance, to poetry, filmmaking, design, and much more. A great concept to rediscover heritage through culture, arts, and food.
