ARCO Lisboa is a smaller, quieter, less flashy fair than many of the fairs I have been to this past year. I found it very elegant, classy, less colorful, less commercial in a way, and less pretentious, in a beautifully authentic setting and venue.
I have realized that I have, over the past year and a half, slowly learnt how to enjoy my pace of walking through an art fair much more than before! And ARCO Lisboa was perfect for my new found pace. It was my mom's 70th birthday a few days earlier, and as part of my gift, I had asked her to accompany me on my Lisbon trip. This automatically slowed down my walk through the fair, which I ended up enjoying quite a a lot.
Loved being introduced to the many great galleries based in Lisbon, like Francisco Fino and Pedro Cera, which I found had art very much to my taste, and I got introduced to some great new European galleries as well, of which I liked Rolando Anselmi, Giorgio Persano Gallery, who carried beautiful works by the talented Zena El Khalil, and Sabrina Amrani.
